Spielbeschreibung
Radix is a bold attempt to combine DOOM and Descent into a single futuristic ship-flying first/third person shooter. You pilot an experimental craft, venturing deep inside the human colony of Theta-2 that has been invaded by mysterious but hostile aliens, and beyond.
Explore the colony, collect powerups, find secrets, and of course blast away alien baddies! Each level has a unique set of objectives (primary and secondary), upon completing which you need to escape, Descent-style. The shareware version includes the first episode out of three, Theta-2.
Radix was originally released in 1995, with the first version not allowing the player to stop and hover the craft, except by cheating, but constantly flying forward was found to be an inconvenient way of playing. The update to version 1.1 introduced many fixes and even replaced several levels, but the final revision, 2.0 REMIX, was a major overhaul of many aspects of the game and made constant cruising optional, just like in Descent.
